Diego began his musical studies at the age of five in the Music School Tademus whose director was Carlos Libedinsky. When he was ten he met baritone Juan Rodo with whom he discovers the passion for singing. It was Rodo who introduced him to the Broadway Musicals genre.
When he was 15 he met Ida Terkiel who would become his singing teacher for 8 years. Terkiel insisted that Diego was still to young to study Opera, but due to his passion for singing, the first Opera classes began. They spent several years learning technique and when Diego was 20 years old they started singing Arie Antiche from the Parissotti’s Collection, Lieder and some Opera Arias. From 2006 to 2010 Diego continued his singing studies with Maestro Eduardo Cogorno. But alongside singing, Diego also studied piano. He was 16 when he met Beatriz Tabares who would become his piano and musical language teacher for 10 years .
In the year 2000 Diego received his High-School diploma from ORT School. Since ORT is a technical institution he earned his Degree as a Musical Technical Producer. This Degree enabled him to make multitracks recordings in diverse systems, mix and mastering; select, program and manipulate all the equipments that are used in musical production (recorders, amplifiers, microphones, mixers, “samplers”, synthesisers, computers, sequencers, etc.); Diego also learned how to work with video postproduction and multimedia presentations.
In 2001 he entered the Trilce choir directed by Maestro Néstor Andrenacci. The repertoire he sang in the choir was very eclectic: works from the Renaissance up to the XX Century, including also popular choir arrangements for tangos, chacarreras and murgas (folk argentinian music). With the choir he made numerous presentations in public Libraries from the Buenos Aires Government, Churches, Hospitals, The Salon Dorado from the National Cultural House and ended with a tour in Chile where he sang in the Sala Claudio Arrau in the National Theatre.
From 2002 to 2004 Diego also studied morphology, counterpoint and harmony with Maestro Guillermo Pozzatti and from 2003 to 2010 he studied chamber music repertoire with Maestro Guillermo Opitz (website in Spanish only).
From 2005 to 2010 he sang as a soloist in different Theatres in Buenos Aires such as La Scala de San Telmo, El Casal de Catalunya and the Institución Argentino-Germano presenting a vast chamber repertoire. He sung in many opportunities Schubert‘s Die Schöne Mullerin cycle and also concerts with lieder by Mozart, Brahms, Fauré, Arie Antiche and Opera Arias.
In July 2008 Diego completed his musical and pianistic studies at the National Conservatory of Music Carlos López Buchardo. He received his Bachelor Degree Licenciado en Artes Musicales con orientación en piano (BA in Musical Arts with specialization in piano).
Since 2010 Diego resides in Hong Kong working as Hazzan & Programming Assistant for the United Jewish Congregation.
